India vs South Africa 2006 : Ganguly Laxman back in IndianTeam

What an interesting development? Ganguly is back in the Indian test team. There may be different point of views at looking at it. All in all it gives Ganguly one chance to write the final chapter again :). Whether he will be able to do it gracefully will be interesting to see it.

Ganguly always had problem against rising deliviries and that he being called to address the same problem is an interesting conundrum. I think what India really needs is not Ganguly the batsman but Ganguly the fighter. In the past he has shown what he can do inspite of having problems with the bouncy pitches. Hopefully like Zaheer Khan, both laxman and Ganguly will be able to show what they are capable of. I would say if India could win the last One day match it would help them a lot going to the test series.

Another interesting development had been giving the job of Vice Captain to VVS Laxman. I don't know what it means in the long run. Does this mean that the Virendra Sehwag will not be captain anymore inthe future test series or just this has happened due to India's performance in the recent series. I think Sehwag is not a bad vice captain except for the inconsistency which makes his place in the team itself doubtful. How long selectors will be able to persist with VVS Laxman will be interesting to see. I think all this changes are for short term (may be just even for South Africa series). However it does provide some spice to one sided series.

Rest of the post!
